Key Responsibilities

• Media Relations: Develop and maintain positive relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets. Serve as the primary contact for all media inquiries related to athletics.
• Content Creation: Write and distribute press releases, game recaps, and feature stories. Manage the production of multimedia content, including photos, videos, and graphics, to enhance coverage of athletic events.
• Website and Social Media Management: Oversee the athletics website and social media platforms. Ensure content is current, engaging, and accurately reflects the achievements and activities of our student-athletes and teams.
• Game Day Operations: Coordinate all aspects of media coverage and game day operations for home athletic events, including press box management and statistical reporting.
• Public Relations: Act as a liaison between the athletics department and various stakeholders, including students, faculty, alumni, and community members. Promote a positive image of the athletics program.
• Statistics and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of game statistics, team and individual performances, and historical data for all sports.
• Supervision: Supervise at-will assistant(s), as well as student manager(s), and student worker(s) as needed.
• Additional duties will be determined, in part, by the experiences and strengths of the successful candidate and may include assistingdepartment operations and/ orteachinga sports studies course.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in sports communication, media relations, or a related field.

• Valid Driver's License

• Exceptional writing and editing skills.

• Proficiency in social media management and digital content creation.

• Knowledge of statistical software and game day operations.

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and projects

• An appreciation for a residential liberal arts education, respect for individual differences, openness to the values and opinions of others, and flexibility to adapt to constant change.
