Job Description
General Responsibilities
The Assistant Director of Athletics for Recruitment, Camps, and Clinics is responsible for planning, coordinating, and administering all athletics camps, clinics, and recruitment initiatives that support the Academy’s Voyage Plan and enrollment objectives, with a particular emphasis on growing women’s sports programs. This position collaborates closely with the Director of Athletics, the Vice President of Student Services, coaches, and campus partners to develop strategic programming that attracts prospective student-athletes and enhances the Academy’s visibility and competitiveness.
In addition to administrative and recruitment responsibilities, the Assistant Director of Athletics may be assigned as the Head Coach for a women’s varsity athletic program, providing leadership in student-athlete development, team management, and compliance with Academy, conference, and the NCAA policies.
The Assistant Director of Athletics works collaboratively across campus to ensure safe, well-organized, and mission-aligned programming while contributing to the overall goals and success of the Athletics Department and Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
Responsibilities :
Collaborate with the Director of Athletics and the Vice President of Student Services to design, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive athletics camps and clinics program that supports the Academy’s Voyage Plan and overall student recruitment strategy.
Work directly with women’s sports teams to coordinate, plan and implement training camps, clinics, and recruitment-focused events that strengthen student-athlete recruitment efforts.
Provide on-site leadership, supervision, and operational management for all athletics camps, clinics, and recruitment events.
Monitor, assess, and evaluate athletics camps and clinics for participation, program quality, and effectiveness; prepare timely after-action reports that include data analysis related to participation trends, budget performance, and future growth opportunities.
Collaborate with campus partners, including Event Management and other operational departments, to ensure coordinated planning and achievement of shared institutional objectives for strategic partnerships as it relates to athletics.
Develop and maintain client relationships with external organizations and serve as the primary Athletics point of contact for scheduling and managing on-campus camps, clinics, and sports programs.
Serve as the liaison for intramural and club sports programs, providing operational coordination and administrative oversight.

Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelors degree
5 years experience in sport camps and clinics
3 years head coaching experience at the high school, club or college level
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree
10 years of progressive coaching experience in high school, prep school or college
3 years Alumni Development / Fundraising experience
Club or collegiate coaching experience in soccer
Salary
$65,000-$70,000 Annually
