) invites applications for an Assistant Director of Athletics for Sports Performance. Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletic Director, Compliance & Internal Operations, this individual will oversee and operate the Athletic Department Strength and Conditioning Center and provide sport specific programming and implementation training programs for 21
NCAA
Division I sports.
Specifically, the individual will be responsible for:
Meeting with coaches and defining training goals and objectives;
Devising and maintaining a calendar of training sessions;
Administering program to teams and communicating outcomes with coaching staff;
Communicating with athletic trainers regarding injury restrictions and rehabilitation goals; and
Supervising varsity training facility.
Bachelor’s degree
CPR
/
AED
Certified
Current certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, or the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
3 years of demonstrated experience working with integrated sports performance.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with diverse groups of student-athletes, coaches, athletic trainers, and administration.
Detail oriented, organized, and display the ability to effectively schedule and manage time.
Ability to work non-standard work weeks, including early mornings, nights, and weekends.
Ability to lift 100 pounds or more.
Satisfactory background and/or
DMV
checks required
Bachelor’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or other exercise related field.
Master’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or other exercise related field.
4 or more years of demonstrated experience working with integrated sports performance
Previous strength and conditioning coaching experience working in collegiate athletics, preferable at the Division I level.
Additional strength and conditioning certifications, e.g. certified strength and conditioning specialist or strength and conditioning coach certified.
Knowledge of
NCAA
rules and regulations.
