The athletics program at Appalachian State University operates on the premise that intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of the institution’s overall program of education. Priority is given to high standards of both academic and athletic quality — the goal being the complete development of the student-athlete.
This position’s primary purpose is to reconcile purchasing card transactions for the App State Athletics department. This position will also assist the Business Office with the processing of invoices, reimbursements, and other operational needs.
Duties and responsibilities include:
Communicating via e-mail in a professional manner to ensure any needed information is obtained for accurate p-card submittal.
Communicating with athletics staff and purchasing office in a professional manner to ensure p-cards are reconciled on time, and that University and Departmental policies and procedures are followed.
Serving as department p-card administrator and assisting the Business Office.
Utilizing knowledge of the policies and procedures of the p-card program.
Committing to and complying with the department and university policies and procedures as well as the conference and
NCAA
constitutions, Bylaws, Legislation and regulations.
Coordinating timelines with athletics staff when p-card receipts are due for reconciling.
Coordinating with other Business Office staff members to assist with payables, reimbursements, and other clerical processes.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
Must be very organized and have the ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced office environment.
Exhibited dedication to customer service as well as excellent communication skills is essential.
The person in this position must have a general knowledge of accounting practices.
Must have a commitment to University, Department, and Conference policies and procedures as well as
NCAA
Constitutions, bylaws, legislation and regulations.
