Assistant Director of Compliance/Scholarships
Reports to: Assistant AD/Compliance and Academics

Position Summary: To assist the Assistant AD/Compliance and Academics in ensuring compliance with NCAA Div. 1 rules and regulations. Helps provide ongoing education to coaches, students, and university staff on NCAA rules. Coordinates with the Office of Financial Aid in the awarding of athletic scholarships for the Athletics department.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Serves as a representative of the University displaying courtesy, tact consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the HCU community and with the public.
Coordinate with office of Financial Aid to award and monitor all athletic scholarships, including the awarding of books and fees within NCAA guidelines (NCAA Bylaw 15).
Assist in monitoring athletic department activities to ensure compliance with NCAA rules.
Assist in educating various constituencies on NCAA rules.
Assist in providing rules interpretations.
Assist in monitoring recruitment activities (NCAA Bylaw 13).
Verifying athletic schedules with regard to practice and playing seasons.

Other duties and Responsibilities:
Manage personnel information on coaching staff, non-coaching staff, graduate assistants, managers and trainers to ensure compliance with NCAA rules (NCAA Bylaw 11)
Manage rosters and participation for all HCU teams and submit to the Southland Conference/Ohio Valley Conference at completion of the championship playing season
Organize and maintain relevant documents
Must follow all NCAA and conference rules
Knowledge and Skills: Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree preferred. A minimum of three years experience within NCAA compliance at the Division 1 level. Working knowledge of the compliance software. Basic computer skills. Must be able to travel as necessary. Must be able to work 40+ hours per week as the schedule demands.
Fiscal Responsibility: Will assist in approving all necessary invoices and travel vouchers as necessary to ensure NCAA compliance.
Physical Demands: Must be able to sit for long periods at a desk. Must be able to communicate with various constituencies in person, via phone, and by email.
