Job Summary

The Assistant Director will report to and assist the Director of Counseling and Sports Psychology in the delivery of direct psychological and administrative services to student-athletes competing within a highly competitive, Division I athletics program within the Big Ten Conference. Additionally, the individual in this role will provide consultation and relevant training to coaches, athletic trainers, academic staff, and other athletic department staff within the realm of psychological services and mental performance. The Assistant Director will assist with ADHD/LD services along with coordination of referrals outside of the athletic department’s system. The individual in this position will help build a strong, sustainable Counseling and Sport Psychology team to enhance student-athletes’ mental well-being, performance, and overall experience as a Boilermaker.

Required:

• Ph.D.
• Psychologist License in good standing in the state of Indiana
• Five or more years of Sports Psychology experience working directly with collegiate Student-Athletes
• Ability to communicate and interact closely with Student-Athletes, coaching staffs, administration, and associated medical care personnel.

Preferred:

• Degree in Sports Psychology, Sport and PE Administration, Physical Education, Teacher Education, Coaching, Adapted Physical Education or related field
