The Division of Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison dedicates itself to the mission of providing athletic opportunities to a wide range of students in an environment in which all student-athletes can achieve their academic and competitive goals. The Division strives to provide equitable opportunities for all student-athletes and fosters the principles of sportsmanship, respect and fair play on the field of play. The Division sponsors teams in 23 sports competing under the regulatory guidelines established by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Big Ten Conference, the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) and the Intercollegiate Rowing Association (IRA).

Under the supervision of the Director of Development, this position will work as a member of the Athletic Development Office team. This professional will manage a portfolio of major gift donors ($25,000+) to raise funds for strategic fundraising priorities for the University of Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletics.

• Effectively solicit and procure major gifts, including facility gifts, planned gifts, scholarship endowments, NIL gifts, premium seating and special campaigns/initiatives.
  
• Work with Athletics staff, campus partners, donors, WFAA, The Varsity Collective and the W-Club to identify, cultivate and solicit existing donors and prospects with the capacity to make $25,000 gifts and higher; manage a portfolio of 100-150 donors and prospects and engage in daily outreach.
  
• Records and reports on a consistent basis in regard to major gift metrics such as meaningful contacts, in-person donor visits, solicitations, dollars-raised and other donor activity.
  
• Assist and collaborate with the Major Gifts team on all aspects of campaigns and special initiatives.
  
• Work closely with stewardship, events and communications to ensure proper and thorough cultivation and stewardship plans are executed.
  
• Work in tandem with ticketing and premium seating to ensure all ticket/parking needs are filled based on the donor levels and points system.
  
• Maintain a standard in-office working schedule while also being engaged out-of-office on donor appointments.
  
• Assist with all development events and development responsibilities on game day for a variety of sports.
  
• Work with legal documents, donor agreements and confidential donor information.
  
• Promotes the importance of the student-athlete experience in all initiatives.
  
• This position requires night and weekend work as well as some regional and national travel.

Responsibilities:

Identifies and cultivates relationships with donor prospects at the leadership annual giving and lower major gift level, develops and implements fundraising plans, and works collaboratively with other Advancement staff to meet predefined gift contribution goals. - 85% Identifies, promotes, and maintains donor relationships and identifies solicitation opportunities specifically designed for the generation of gifts to reach program funding goals - 5% Develops and delivers targeted fundraising and communication programs and materials specific to gift contributions in alignment with strategic initiatives - 5% Develops and updates prospect portfolios, evaluates existing strategy and recommends improvements to leadership - 5% Serves as a unit liaison to internal and external constituencies, provides information and represents the interests of the institution

Education:

Required
Bachelor's Degree

Qualifications:

A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in development, sales, marketing or related field is required.

The most qualified candidates will also possess:
- An understanding of a major research institution of higher education and an interest in promoting its intercollegiate athletics program;
- Strong written, interpersonal and organizational skills;
- Self-directed, team player with personal integrity and has a strong work ethic;
- The ability to multi-task and work effectively with a range of individuals including UW Athletics colleagues, campus partners, prominent alumni and business/ community leaders, current and former student-athletes;
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Paciolan is preferred.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Salary:

Minimum $53,700 ANNUAL (12 months)

Conditions of Appointment: This is a 100% Academic Staff appointment. Salary will be assigned within the appropriate range, commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is also included.
