VCU Athletics is seeking a professional, dependable Assistant Director of Equipment & Game Operations
Summary:
Under the general supervision of the Assistant AD for Equipment, the Assistant Director of Equipment & Game Operations will assist in the administration of equipment services and game operations for VCU's 17 intercollegiate sports.
Typical Duties
Manage digital inventory for all equipment. Order and manage equipment for all VCU Athletic teams. Manage equipment and gear for embossing with VCU Athletic logo.
Equipment liaison between Women Basketball, Volleyball and Men's & Women's Soccer teams.
Liaison between visiting teams and VCU Athletics. Communicates and coordinates with game officials, The Diamond & Flying Squirrels staff, VCU Athletic coaches, and various Athletic staff for game day. Communicates with all stakeholders to ensure needs have been met.
Game manager for Field Hockey and Baseball.
Operates as Tournament Director for Conference Tournaments hosted by VCU Athletics, ensuring all details of the tournament are handled and ready for game day.
Maintain all game equipment.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or training and experience at a level that equates to a bachelor's degree;
1-2 years experience working within collegiate athletics;
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU; and
Able to work independently, as well as part of a team, in a multi-tasking environment, with a strong sense of principles and ethics in regard to the welfare of the student-athletes.
Willingness and ability to work flexible hours, which include nights and weekends;
Prior experience working within the Equipment Services unit of a Division l collegiate athletics program, along with prior game-day experience within a Dl program - preferred
