), 12-month, professional faculty position.
The mission of the

Department of Athletics is to Go Build Excellent, Authentic, Visionary Student-Athletes (GO B.E.A.V.S.).
Reporting to the Creative Director, the Assistant Director of FB Social and Brand Strategy is a member of the football department and delivers innovative and on-brand visual solutions for web, email, social media, print, and all other digital efforts. This individual will use their organizational and project management skills to ensure that all project timelines are met. The position will be responsible for supervision of student creatives.
The Assistant Director of Social and Brand Strategy will primarily be responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive social media strategy, aligned with the organization’s brand objectives. The incumbent will collaborate with the Creative Director to ensure a cohesive and impactful brand presence across various digital platforms. Stay up to date on industry trends, analyze performance metrics, and provide insightful recommendations to optimize social media campaigns. This role also involves fostering engagement, building brand loyalty, and leveraging social channels to enhance the organization’s overall marketing goals. As the supervisor of student workers, the person in this role is expected to have the ability to communicate routinely and effectively, cultivate an environment that encourages creativity and to successfully monitor their progress on a routine basis.

The Assistant Director of Social and Brand Strategy is a dynamic role that involves crafting and executing comprehensive social media and brand strategies to enhance the organization’s online presence and engagement. Working closely with the Director, this professional will oversee the development and implementation of strategic plans to drive brand awareness, audience growth, and community engagement across various social media platforms. They will analyze data and trends to optimize content performance, ensuring alignment with the overall marketing objectives. Additionally, the Assistant Director will collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain brand consistency and elevate the organization’s image.

VIDEOGRAPHY
In partnership with the Football Creative Department, this position will assist in all Oregon State Football visuals; including but not limited to the photography and/or videography of football recruits, student-athletes, alumni, and supporters of the program. Independently creates and enhances current branding opportunities. Effectively recommends strategies to the Creative Director to enhance exposure for the Football Recruiting Department. Stays current on branding theory and industry standards.

Provides leadership and supervision for a staff of 3-5 design students. Plans and assigns work projects. Communicates with each individual on a routine basis. Cultivates an environment that encourages creativity. Successfully monitors progress and provides feedback in a timely manner. Hires and fires. Assigns and approves work projects. Responds to grievances. Completes performance reviews for assigned staff.

DEPARTMENT
COLLABORATION
Communicates and collaborates on a routine basis with the Ideation Team within the athletic department. Generates and encourages new ideas, then sees them through to the design implementation. Collaborates with current video staff to assist in the enhancement of their graphic packages for videos that are produced for players and recruits.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Applied Visual Arts, Journalism, Sports Management or a related field
AND
one (1) year of work experience in graphic design, social media deliverables, or related field
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated proficiency with media software (ex: Dreamweaver, Flash, Quark, In Design, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).
A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
One (1) year of experience in a university athletic department or professional sports organization.
Evening and weekend work may be required.
