The Assistant Director of Game Operations demonstrates establishing positive, mutually respectful, and effective working relationships with scholar-athletes, coaches, administrators, faculty, alumni, and the public in assisting with all gameday operations, setup and teardown, and game management for all home varsity athletic events, including hiring, training, scheduling, and management of part-time and student personnel to ensure Florida Tech athletics provides a positive experience for all participants and spectators. This role supports the University’s mission to educate global thinkers, resilient problem solvers, and future leaders, ready to support industry and societal needs by responsibly integrating science, technology, and other key disciplines to advance knowledge across the universe and Florida Tech athletics mission of developing diverse athletes into scholars, champions, and leaders prepared to become global influencers in their relentless pursuit of greatness. Florida Institute of Technology is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II and the Sunshine State Conference (SSC). In meeting the University’s tradition of ethical conduct at all levels of university life, the Assistant Director of Game Operations is responsible for demonstrating a commitment to represent the University in an honorable and ethical manner and complying with all athletic, NCAA, Sunshine State Conference (SSC), Florida Institute of Technology, and established Federal Government policies and protocols, including the use of all athletic and university software and technology systems, documentation, travel arrangements, equipment/supplies maintenance, orders, and community service. The Assistant Director of Game Operations is a Campus Security Authority (“CSA”) as defined by the Clery Act and will comply with university policies on the reporting of crime statistics and related information to the official designated by the University for the purposes of Clery Act reporting, and in compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, is defined as Responsible Employee and will report incidents of sexual misconduct (including sexual harassment and sexual violence) and other inappropriate sexual conduct to the University’s Title IX Coordinator or other appropriate designee as required by University policy.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with planning and coordinating all game operations in managing all home varsity athletic & special events, including hiring, training, scheduling, and management of part-time and student personnel to coordinate facility setup and teardown, pre-game, in-game, and post-game activities, , serving as a liaison for visiting teams and officials, and ensuring Florida Tech athletics provides a positive experience for all participants and spectators 

  • Collaborate with athletic communications and promotions teams to create and execute in-game promotions, giveaways, and fan experiences. Monitor and evaluate fan feedback and adjust operations to improve the overall fan experience. 

  • Assist in managing a comprehensive electronic inventory program (TRAC), which encompasses distributing, collecting, and disposing of equipment, shoes, and apparel 

  • Serves as the secondary point of contact for Campus Security, Melbourne Police, National Cleaning Service (NCS), Panther Dining Services, and other outside vendors for support of game elements

  • Other duties assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for External Operations 

Requirements Include:

  • Previous experience working in an athletic game operations role preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Sport Management, Sports Facilities, Coaching, or other athletic-related discipline; Master’s degree preferred

  • First Aid/CPR
