The Program for Leadership and Character inspires, educates, and empowers leaders of character to serve humanity. The Program for Leadership and Character partners with Athletics and specific teams to provide leadership and character development to student-athletes through 1:1 coaching, workshops, retreats, and individual team development.
Essential Functions:
Works closely with Program for Leadership and Character staff and Athletics staff to design, deliver, and assess transformative student programming related to leadership and character.
Creates and implements student-athlete development programming, including periodic and year-long programming as well as 1:1 and full team programming.
Provides individualized mentoring and support to students and teams.
Manages the program budget for Athletics programming in alignment with grant deliverables.
Serves as program representative at various Athletics and campus events to ensure the program is appropriately represented on campus.
Designs and develops the structure, strategy, and plan for expanding programming in Athletics.
Leads relevant discussion groups and programming in the Program for Leadership and Character and provides mentoring to individual students.
Collaborates with Program staff and campus partners to support leadership and character programming and development in a variety of areas of undergraduate student life.
Develops comprehensive plans for programming and manages multiple projects simultaneously.
Serves as a liaison with various campus offices, organizations, and departments and represents the program to multiple constituencies, including students, parents, alumni, donors, and prospective students, as needed.
Assists with strategic communication and planning, external relations, grant administration and program assessment.
Provides administrative leadership on a variety of program initiatives and performs basic administrative functions as needed.
Provides a welcoming and warm presence to students and embodies an example for others to emulate.
Responsible for tracking events and programs for the purpose of reporting.
Performs other tasks as needed.
Required Education, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Master’s degree in a relevant field, and 2-4 years experience in Athletics-related and/or leadership and character-related programming, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
