The LSU Athletics Department is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Director of Marketing who is responsible for advancing the mission and values of the LSU Athletics Department by delivering the LSU Tigers brand by identifying creative and innovative programs that engage both existing and new fans.
50% Develop and implement marketing initiatives to increase attendance and enhance the fan experience for soccer and softball; Oversee the Mike’s Kids Club program; Assist with the planning, coordination and implementation of all football game day activities and promotions.
30% Identify creative and innovative programs that engage fans, resulting in an entertaining atmosphere and that encourages spectator loyalty and support; Enhance and cultivate on-campus relationships, resulting in student, faculty and staff support.
15% Provide direct oversight of Graduate Assistants and student interns. Responsible for the hiring process of the student intern program and scheduling of sport assignments.
5% Advances and supports LSU and Athletics Department diversity and inclusion initiatives through personal participation in educational and developmental opportunities, as well as participation in the creation of an inclusive culture consistent with the values of LSU and its Athletics Department; Works collaboratively with the Office of Communications and University Relations and adheres to the standards set therein; Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sport Administration or related field with two years of experience related to Marketing or Sales; Efficiently operate a personal computer and associated software (Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Click Effects Blaze and Crossfire operating systems, Daktronics videoboard equipment, SHOFLO scripting software and Microsoft Office Suite).
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Sports Administration, Education or other related field; Sales experience
Special or Physical Qualifications:
Ability to work extended days, weekends and holidays. Must be able to communicate and interact effectively, respectfully and appropriately with diverse populations in the Department, the University and community; Willing to work in a team atmosphere where expectations are set and managed while giving staff flexibility to do their assigned tasks as both a leader and/or a follower; Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with colleagues, student-athletes, coaches, administrators and fans; Belief in the LSU Department of Athletics Mission and Core Values; Handle multiple tasks in a high stress environment.
