SUMMARY:

The Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote attendance and overall brand growth for Lion Athletics. Position responsibilities also include development of promotional concepts, drafting of game scripts, and oversee home game presentation.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop marketing plans for all 14 sports.
• Create and implement strategic fan engagement initiatives.
• Draft game scripts and oversee home game presentation.
• Develop strategies and initiatvies to increase attendance and ticket revenue for all home athletics contexts.
• Establish relationships with campus and communities in the Northeast Texas region to promote Lion Athletics.
• Enhance ticket revenue through group ticketing strategies and initiatives.
• Provide leadership in expanding the Lion Athletics brand through print and electronic media, advertising, web content, community partners, and social media platforms.
• Assist in fulfillment of sponosrhip elements in partnership with Taymar Sales U.
• Enhance ticket revenue through group ticketing initiative.
• Recruit, train, and mentor student workers for fan engagement initiatives.
• Provide direction to athletics spirit groups (e.g., cheer, dance, mascot) and serve as primary liaison to band.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: Bachelor's degree
• Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Four (4) years of relevant experience in sports marketing and/or game presentation.
• Ability To: Multi-task and work flexible hours.
• Licensing/Professional Certifications: None
• Physical Requirements: None
• Other Requirements: Ability to work nights and weekend on a regular and recurring basis.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

Master’s Degree; Experience working in a Division I athletics department.
