Job Summary

In Coordination with the Director of Recruiting, the Assistant Director of On-Campus Recruiting plans and executes on-campus visits, including official and unofficial visits, and events such as junior days, spring practices, and game days. In this role, you will create itineraries for prospective student-athletes for all unofficial and official visits, specifically tailoring the schedules for each prospects’ unique background, goals, and interests, plan small- and large-scale events in a detail-oriented, creative way while adhering to NCAA and B1G rules and regulations and implement new and innovative ideas for on-campus recruiting.

In this role, you will create itineraries for prospective student-athletes for all unofficial and official visits, specifically tailoring the schedules for each prospects’ unique background, goals, and interests, plan small- and large-scale events in a detail-oriented, creative way while adhering to NCAA and B1G rules and regulations and implement new and innovative ideas for on-campus recruiting.

• Maintain the football recruiting database to keep track of visits, information gathered during these visits, and what the prospective student-athletes have done during those visits
• Input compliance forms pre and post visit for prospective student-athletes
• Communicates with the football coaching and support staffs on recruiting visit logistics, details, and meetings
• Schedules meetings and coordinates timing based on staff needs
• Conducts tours and trains staff and students to conduct tours
• Coordinate a variety of vendors from hotels, caterers, rental companies, florists, etc. for football recruiting events and visits
• Cultivate relationships between vendors and the football recruiting staff
• Maintain a database of invoices from these vendors
• Work with the Director of Recruiting with coordination of communication plans and transcript collection
• Assist in hiring, training, supervising, and developing student interns
• Maintains a thorough knowledge of B1G Conference and NCAA rules and regulations as it relates to recruiting
• Follow NCAA rules and regulations for official and unofficial visits, as well as communications and correspondence

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 2 years related professional experience in student recruitment and/or working with a collegiate or professional football program
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent reading comprehension skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and make distinctions among competitive applicants
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills such as professionalism, collaborative, influencer and demonstrates cheerful and positive behaviors
• Demonstrated presentation skills
• Evidence of program planning and management skills
• Must have proper knowledge and skills surrounding the sport of football
