The Assistant Director of Sports Information reports directly to the Director of Sports Information. The assistant may serve assigned sports and handle media inquiries for those sports, while also performing game day tasks.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain a commitment to adhering to all policies, rules, and regulations of Greensboro College, USA South Athletic Conference and the NCAA
Manage the live streaming of games through the Production Truck software for each home event that is live streamed, includes creating in-game graphics and video content for the stream, manage audio/video and scorebug during the stream, and set up and take down of equipment after each game
Assist with management of the Athletic Department’s social networking tools (Facebook, twitter, Instagram)
Create digital media content to be used on social media platforms and during live streams to enhance student-athlete presence and overall promotion of athletic program.
Help design media guides for all teams
Help SID with all media day video/photo shoots
Video editing and production for website and social media use
Compiling and furnishing statistical information for assigned sports
Some public address and live stream announcing may also be required
Prepare for games by designing game programs, along with any other needed information.
Oversite of game day operations
Site set-up (Scoreboard, Video Stream, Sound System, etc.)
Ensure all staff is in place to cover all necessary positions for an event
Train student workers and other game staff on assigned duties
Operate live stat software to precisely document all statistical information for select home games, select road contest, and provide select reports to the conference and NCAA
Write game synopsis for assigned athletic events home or away, including special awards and events
Travel with teams to road contest, as requested
Write scripts and timelines for special events (Hall of Fame, Senior Days, Awards Ceremonies, etc.)
Qualifications
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of, or ability to learn, live stat statistical software (NCAA Genius, Presto Live Stats)
Knowledge of, or ability to learn, Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel)
Knowledge of, or ability to learn, Adobe Creative Suites (Photoshop, InDesign)
