Summary of Job Duties: The Assistant Director of Sports Turf Operations will assist the Associate Director of Sports Turf Operations with day-to-day operations related to maintaining the surfaces of various natural and artificial turf athletic fields and landscaping of the athletic facilities. This position will function as the primary Sports Turf Operations contact in the director’s absence.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
Experience supervising and directing work of grounds crew staff
2-3 years experience in baseball field management
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Turf Grass Science, Biology, Sports Management, or a related field
At least three years of supervisory experience in athletic field and turf management
Arkansas certified pesticide license in the categories necessary to meet all EPA and State laws and regulations pertaining to Sports Turf Management or the ability to obtain within six months of employment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to interface effectively with coaching staff and other employees to provide a cohesive working environment
Ability to obtain an Arkansas certified pesticide license in the categories necessary to meet all EPA and State lases and regulations pertaining to Sports Turf Management within six months of employment
