The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics competes at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics with the vision to reach Next Level Success for all 18 varsity teams and more than 500 student-athletes. The Bearcats have a proud athletics history, winning eight national championships and 117 conference titles. The Cincinnati men's basketball team is among the 15 winningest programs all-time, while the football team became the first American Athletic Conference program to compete in the College Football Playoff in 2021. Olympic gold medalist volleyball player Jordan Thompson, NBA Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson and Major League Baseball legend Sandy Koufax are among the several luminaries who have competed as Bearcats.
UC student-athletes collectively posted a 3.4 overall GPA in the spring of 2023, resulting in 11 consecutive semesters of a 3.3 department GPA or higher.

The University of Cincinnati (UC), Department of Athletics seeks applications for an Assistant Director of Student Athlete Development to work in the Student Athlete Development Academy. This is a full-time position, salaried, with a comprehensive benefits package.
Reporting to the Associate AD for Career Advancement and Leadership, the successful candidate will be expected to lead and support the programs and events offered through the Student-Athlete Development Academy, including Career Exploration, Personal Development, Leadership, and Community Engagement. The strengths and experience of the individual in this position will determine specific job responsibilities.
Through targeted programming Personal Development helps student-athletes maximize their personal potential. We aid student-athletes in their transition into higher education, equip them with the skills necessary to meet challenges they may face, and prepare them for life after graduation. Duties include:
Program Development: Design, implement, and oversee comprehensive personal development programs that address the unique needs of student-athletes, encompassing areas such as leadership, mental health, transition, life skills, and personal wellness.
Workshops and Seminars: Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and guest speaker sessions that cover a wide range of topics, including time management, communication, financial literacy, diversity and inclusion, and emotional well-being.
Collaboration: Collaborate with academic counselors, coaches, and other campus departments to ensure a cohesive and integrated support system for student-athletes, fostering their overall development.
Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to student-athlete progress, program effectiveness, and areas for improvement. Use data-driven insights to refine and enhance personal development initiatives.
Partnerships: Develop and maintain relationships with external organizations, businesses, and alumni to provide student-athletes with opportunities for internships, mentorships, and professional networking.
Three (3) years of experience in coordinating projects and/or programs. May require at least one (1) year of supervision.
