Under the direction of the Assistant Director, the Special Events and Annual Giving is responsible for planning, organizing, and executing special events that support the athletic department's goals and enhance the experience of student-athletes, alumni, donors, and fans. This position will also execute a comprehensive athletics annual giving program by utilizing strategic planning to grow the Beach Athletic Fund.

Demonstrated excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Strong knowledge of all aspects of event management and public relations. Ability to plan, organize, and complete a variety of administrative tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint, and other general computer software tools. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work with a diverse group of coaches, staff and students. General knowledge of university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Working knowledge of budget policies and procedures preferred. Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with colleagues and constituents. Special Event coordination experience, preferably in an Athletics/NCAA environment. Ability to gain knowledge regarding NCAA rules and regulations. Experience with Advance and Paciolan or similar software for ticketing and fundraising preferred.

Medium work - Job involves lifting heavy-weight objects (20-40 pounds) and/or 20% - 40% of the job involves standing, squatting, kneeling, or walking. May require pushing or pulling objects within the weight limits.
Licenses / Certificates
Driver's License required. Employees who are required to operate motorized vehicles and/or use their personal vehicle more than once a month on University business are required to take a mandatory Defensive Driving course and enroll in the DMV Employee Pull Notice (EPN) Program.

Compensation
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.
CSU Classification Salary Range: The CSU Classification Salary Range for this position is $4,598 - $8,318 per month.

Time Base
1.0 time-base, 40 hours per week.
Duration of Appointment
This is a temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.

Additional Information
