This yearly position is a 10-month appointment starting August 1, 2024, through May 31, 2025.
Assist in coverage of all IWU Athletic teams. Specific sport assignment of 11 teams
Assist in coordination and implementation of the department’s social media outreach plan
Manage and post athletic event components such as pregame, in-game, and post-game
Create monthly student/coaches features to highlight the mission of IWU Athletics
Assist in recruitment, oversight, and development of 20-30 student staff that help with social media, scorer’s table, stats, announcing, broadcasting, photography, videography, graphic design, and athletic department history maintenance
Handle record book management and continually work to catalog all aspects of Athletics Communications, utilizing digital archiving procedures that include website and cloud technology
Run the football video board for all home football games
Manage storage/library of annual files, photographs, miscellaneous awards, and videography
Write and edit various communication materials, weekly previews, game recaps, game notes and sport-specific content for the department’s website
Develop and manage the IWU Athletics website while helping in the maintaining accurate, up-to-date, and timely content and news dissemination (including all aspects of the website such as rosters, schedules, biographies, results, and assisting in website management)
Manage Catalyst student-led hype crew throughout the entire year
Other projects and/or duties as assigned by the supervisor or athletics administrative team

A bachelor's degree (English, Communications/Journalism, Sports Management or similar preferred)
Previous experience as a writer, journalist, yearbook editor, or similar
Broadcasting and Play-by-Play experience is a plus
