Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Assistant Director, Student Athlete Success Center - Boca Raton, FL.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Reports to the Director or an Associate Director of the Student Athlete Success Center, a division of Undergraduate Studies.
Development and programming of academic support for student athletes participating in women’s basketball, softball, beach volleyball and men’s golf teams.
Liaison to the director of academic support services and to the offices of student accessibility services.
Develops and assists with providing academic support for student athletes with a primary focus on priority sports and students with diagnosed learning disabilities.
In the Learning Specialist role, oversees a caseload of student-athletes requiring high levels of academic support to assist them in developing the skills necessary to be academically successful and cope with any learning deficiencies that may hinder their academic achievement. Oversees the SASC tutorial program, which includes recruiting, training, and evaluating every member of the tutorial staff. As the tutor coordinator, acts as the liaison between the SASC and the other academic support services on campus including C.L.A.S.S.
Oversees the Graduate Teaching Assistant program, which requires recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating the Graduate Teaching Assistants through their 2-year assistantship.
Oversees SLS/Summer Bridge Programming.
Demonstrates proficiency in advising knowledge, models expertise in advising practice and shows depth in professional engagement.
Monitors student academic plans to ensure timely graduation using advising and student development theories, institutional data and research findings.
Develops innovative improvements to resources and processes to assist students and advisors in course selection, career development, and personal accountability for success.
Provides leadership in the professional development of advisors, maintenance of degree audit system, orientation, graduation, and student retention initiatives.
Leads professional development events and activities at the unit or campus level.
Develops and recommends policies relating to assigned areas of responsibility.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and five (5) years of appropriate experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least three (3) years of student athlete/learning specialist support experience.
Salary:
$55,000 - $60,000 per year.
