Job Description

Responsibilities

Reports to the Director of the Center for Student Success and Academic Excellence. The Assistant Director will work to meet the academic support needs of student-athletes. Specifically, this person will have oversight of the program administration and all aspects of academic advising and success coaching team for student-athletes; monitoring of daily, evening and some weekend study hall requirements.

Qualifications

An advanced degree (masters or higher) and no less than two years of management-level experience working in a professional academic support function at the university level. Knowledge of the university and its core curriculum and academic standards. Requires excellent time management skills. Ability to collect, assess and report on data related to the student-athlete performance and engagement. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, and to make presentations to large groups. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse groups including co-workers, students, faculty, and administration of the university. Ability to administer, analyze, and interpret cognitive and achievement assessments, as well as transcripts and other standardized assessments. Proficient in the utilization of Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
