| Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit |
The Department of Athletics exists to provide educational and athletic opportunities to young men and women, to provide an environment for student-athletes to learn, advance and excel both academically and athletically, and to serve the interests of the University by complimenting and enhancing its diversity and quality of life. Through its athletic programs, the University seeks to unite alumni, faculty, administration and students in a common shared experience. The governing unit within the Department of Athletics is the Director’s Office, which is the administrative office and clearinghouse for the entire Department of Athletics, and promotes the department’s guiding principle of educating and inspiring through athletics. This unit provides support to administrators, coaches, staff members and student-athletes in order to provide and promote a premier intercollegiate athletic program for The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Department of Athletics is a highly visible public relations arm of The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with statewide, national and international recognition.

| Position Summary |
Position reports to the Head Equipment Manager for Football operations. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: issuing equipment to student-athletes and football staff; assisting with inventory of all football athletic equipment and apparel; proper fitting and maintenance of all sports equipment; inventory, distribution, and return of equipment utilized by student-athletes; laundry services and adhering to all Athletic and University policies, NCAA regulations and apparel/equipment contract terms. for equipment. Responsible to maintain effective working relationships and communicate effectively and accurately.

| Minimum Education and Experience Requirements |
High school diploma or equivalency.
|
| Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Must possess the ability to establish and maintain productive and collaborative professional work relationships with coaches, student-athletes, department administrators, and staff.
Effective follow-up skills in prompt and courteous manner.

| Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience |
Attention to detail; computer skills, and ability to assist with inventory control, maintain proper storage and transportation based on the needs of the football program; and skill and ability to ensure that stored pieces of equipment/apparel are properly secure, maintained and available. Ability to adhere to manufactures’ guidelines/recommendation to prolong usability and preserve equipment safety. Knowledge of repairing equipment/apparel to maintain functionality and safety standards.

| Required Licenses/Certifications |
Valid NC Driver’s License required.

| Special Physical/Mental Requirements |
Ability to move heavy objects on a regular basis. Ability to work in inclement weather. Ability to navigate stairs. Ability to work under pressure and time sensitive deadlines. Travel to away games with team and staff required.
