Husson University’s Assistant Coordinator of Esports will provide oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Esports program. This person will play a vital role in coaching, player development, competition management of the Esports facility.
Husson University’s Assistant Coordinator of Esports will provide oversight of the day-to-day operations of the Esports program. This person will play a vital role in coaching, player development, competition management of the Esports facility.
Provide direct coaching to players at varsity and club levels of competition.
Coordinate practices and competition schedules.
Manage team travel requirements when necessary.
Provide oversight of the team's casting program, with assistance from NESCom.
Maintain league compliance and ensure continued membership.
Work collaboratively with other colleges and universities within Maine to develop competition opportunities for college Esports student athletes.
In conjunction with the Esports Coordinator, work with members of the campus community to develop club/intramural Esports opportunities.
In conjunction with the Esports Coordinator, provide oversight of the Esports Arena to ensure maintenance of equipment and enforcement of facility policies and procedures.
In conjunction with the Esports Coordinator, supervise student employees and interns.
Assist in maintaining the Esports Gaming Center systems and cleanliness.
In conjunction with the Esports Coordinator, develop training, events, policies and procedures to ensure participant conduct and program reputation aligns with the University’s mission and vision.
Assist with special projects and committees as assigned.
Uphold compliance and behavioral expectations associated with but not limited to the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act, Title IX, and the Clery Act, as well as the University’s Student Code of Conduct, Academic Integrity, Title IX, and non-discrimination policies.
Education:
Experience:
Experience coaching or playing in an Esports program at the high school or collegiate level is required.
Experience with multiplayer online video games with team-based elements required.
Event management experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities:
Ability to work effectively with coworkers, students and the public.
Self-motivated with the ability to resolve issues independently.
Ability to work with a diverse community of students, faculty, administrators, and professional colleagues.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
This position requires a flexible work schedule to include nights and weekends.
