Assistant Football Coach

Christian leaders to take the cross to more job sites, churches, industries, and nations
than ever before.
The Assistant Men’s Football Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in
recruiting, training, scouting of opponents, organizing visits, and coaching the members
of the men’s football team. The Assistant Coach is required to uphold the rules and
regulations of the Covenant at Point University, the Appalachian Athletic Conference
(AAC), the NAIA and the NCCAA.
• Assist with year-round recruitment of high school and junior college players,
including recruitment by phone calls, letters and visits to players and coaches
• Maintain a knowledge of offensive and defensive coaching strategies
• Assist with preseason/postseason workouts and weight room workouts
• Assist with game tape exchange, ensure tapes/video equipment are prepared for
home/away games
• Assist with monitoring academic progress of student-athletes
• Assist coordination of off-campus community service program
• Assist with any summer camps/activities
• Assist with small group/team devotion
Requirements Education, Attributes and Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree
• A commitment to the student-athlete concept and a working knowledge of the
NAIA rules and regulations
Preferred
• Master’s degree
• Experience playing, coaching, and leading a team
