The Assistant Coach will be responsible for assisting in the organization and management of an NCAA Division III Football program in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the Athletics Department and Whittier College. The Candidate must exhibit excellent communication skills, have high ethical standards, and is expected to contribute to the overall atmosphere of the Department of Athletics by establishing and maintaining positive, team-oriented working relationships with all members of the athletic department and the College. The successful candidate will have experience in recruiting, developing, and retaining student-athletes at the NCAA Division III level. The candidate must also possess the leadership ability to help coordinate a successful defensive unit, manage, supervise, and evaluate, and provide leadership for the defensive coaching staff. They must possess the knowledge and experience to coach position groups effectively. At the direction of the Strength and Conditioning coach, this position will also be expected to act as the lead staff member and provide expertise in training, guidance, and supervision while overseeing the overall comprehensive strength and conditioning portion of the program.
The position will also entail secondary Strength and Conditioning responsibilities, as well as athletic administrative duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Athletics.

Salary Range: $70,304 annual; Salary will commensurate with experience, skills, and knowledge.

Knowledge and Education: Bachelor’s Degree, Masters Preferred.
Machines, Tools, Equipment, Electronic Devices and Software: Institutional requirement to understand and operate specific programming needing to track and maintain student recruitment and eligibility.
License(s) and Certificate(s): First-Aid and CPR Certified. A valid California Class C CA driver’s license with a good driving record is required. Note: Out-of-state licenses are valid until appointment. A valid California Class “C” driver’s license must be obtained within ten (10) days of appointment (in accordance with CA Vehicle Code 12505c).
