Job Summary/Basic Function

Position Summary

The Assistant Coach will act as the assistant coach and is expected to assist in all aspects of the operation of the football program, including teaching and implementing skills and strategy, practice planning and execution, game preparation and execution, scouting, recruiting and student-athlete support issues.

Essential Functions

• Educate, advise, mentor, and develop student-athletes to prepare them for success within the football program,

• Oversee the development of a position group. Assist the offensive/defensive coordinator with all aspects of the development and implementation of the schemes and game plans utilized by the unit. 25%

• Assist the head coach in all areas of program operations, including an active role in the recruitment of student-athletes for the football program. 25%

Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Other duties as determined or assigned.

Supervision

• Guides the work of others who perform essentially the same work. May organize, set priorities, schedule, and review work, but has no responsibility to hire, terminate, review performance or make pay decisions

Education / Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, required

• Master's degree, preferred

• CPR/First Aid Certification

• Pennsylvania Act 153 Clearances consisting of PA Criminal Record Information Check, PA Child Abuse Certification, and Federal Criminal History Record Information Check.

• Valid driver's license

Experience

• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience

Independence of Action

• Work progress is monitored by supervisor/manager; incumbent follows precedents and procedures, and may set priorities and organize work within general guidelines established by supervisor/manager.

Work Environment

• Outdoor Environment: Employees work outdoors and may not be protected from weather conditions.

• Extreme Cold: Temperature typically below 32 degrees for more than an hour.

• Extreme Heat: Temperatures about 100 degrees for more than an hour.
