Job Summary

The Assistant Football Coach is a full-time, twelve-month position at Morgan State University – an NCAA Division I FCS institution. The position is responsible for overseeing all phases of the competitive Football team. The Football team competes in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference and adheres to NCAA compliance. The assistant coach must be able to support and promote the University’s mission and head coach mission .

Job Duties

The Assistant Foot Coach will be responsible for:

• Assisting the Head Coach with the overall supervision, organization, development and implementation of Morgan’s Division I Football Program
• Recruiting and scouting qualified student-athletes for the Football Team
• Conducting meetings with student-athletes and staff
• Providing guidance and strategy to staff and student-athletes during competitions
• Monitoring the academic progress and pursuits of student athletes
• Assisting with administrative tasks for the Athletic Program
• Performing other duties as assigned

Requested Minimum Qualifications

Education:
The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from an accredited College or University.

Experience:
At least five (5) years of collegiate football coaching experience is required.

Other Preferences for Consideration

Preferences:

• Preference may be be given to candidates with 6 years or more of experience
• Previous coaching experience at the College level
• Division 1 experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Must be certified in CPR/First Aid. Must hold a valid driver’s license.
• Must be able to receive Mental Health First Aid certification within one calendar year of hire date and maintain certification thereafter.
• Knowledge of NCAA and institutional policies and regulations.
