JOB SUMMARY:

This is a part-time 10-month stipend position charged with assisting the head coach. This job does not include benefits or housing. We are looking to hire a Defensive Backs coach who has a Special Teams background if possible. We do have position flexibility so we will also consider Defensive Line candidates as well.

The assistant coach accepts responsibility of leadership, vision, and supervision of the football program. Nichols College, a member of the NCAA Division III, located in Dudley, MA (Central MA) invites applications for a part-time football coach.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: ASSISTANT COACH

• Support the head coach’s vision.
• Identify and attract outstanding student-athletes to Nichols College.
• Assist the head coach in teaching skills related to football.
• Engage with student-athletes and maintain strong relationships.
• Monitor academic progress.
• Involvement in recruitment off campus, communication, and events.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s degree preferred with experience in collegiate athletics and coaching.
• Genuine understanding and commitment to NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletics philosophy
• Solid knowledge and technical skills for the sport of football.
• Must have strong leadership and people skills plus an ability to work with all constituencies of the campus.
• CPR/ AED and First Aid certification
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, able to handle a multi-task work environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Computer proficiency
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be able to use HUDL, PowerPoint, and ScoreShots
• Being CSCS & SCCC Certified is preferred but not required
