Intercollegiate Athletics
1. Defensive Coaching and Player Development (35%)
• Assist in coaching, developing, and evaluating defensive student-athletes with emphasis on technique, fundamentals, effort, and accountability.
• Teach and reinforce position-specific and unit-based defensive skills, assignments, alignments, and communication.
• Support the creation and implementation of individualized development plans for student-athletes.
• Promote discipline, leadership, and adherence to program standards.
• Coordinate with sports performance and medical staff to support injury prevention, recovery, and performance optimization.
Intercollegiate Athletics

2. Defensive Game Planning and Execution (25%)
• Collaborate with the Defensive Coordinator and defensive staff in weekly opponent preparation.
• Assist in developing defensive game plans, including fronts, coverages, pressures, and personnel groupings.
• Prepare student-athletes for opponent tendencies, formations, and situational football.
• Provide in-game feedback and assist with adjustments to ensure effective defensive execution.
3. Film Study, Evaluation, and Analytics (20%)
• Conduct detailed film breakdowns of practices and games for assigned defensive personnel or units.
• Evaluate opponent offensive tendencies, personnel, and schemes.
• Utilize analytics and performance metrics to support teaching, self-scouting, and strategic decisions.
• Effectively use technology platforms (e.g., Hudl, PFF, Catapult) for teaching, evaluation, and scouting.
4. Practice Planning and Operational Support (15%)
• Assist in designing and organizing defensive individual drills, group periods, and team periods.
• Support practice scripting, tempo management, and efficient use of practice time.
• Ensure effective communication and organization during practices and meetings.
• Assist with preparation of scouting reports, call sheets, personnel packages, and situational installs.
5. Recruiting, Compliance, and Collaboration (5%)
• Assist in the evaluation and recruitment of prospective student-athletes in assigned recruiting areas.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with recruits, high school coaches, and families consistent with program values.
• Ensure full compliance with NCAA, SEC, and University rules and regulations.
• Collaborate with recruiting, operations, compliance, academic support, and administrative staff to support overall program objectives.
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm; Nights, Weekends, and Travel as required.
A Bachelor's degree in related/ relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in a NCAA Division I football program.
