| Job Description Summary |
Eastern Oregon University (EOU) is now accepting applications for an Assistant Football Defense Coach (Special Teams Coordinator / Defensive Backs). The position is a 0.72 FTE, 12-Month position in the Athletics Department and reports directly to the Head Football Coach.
The Assistant Football Defense Coach (Special Teams Coordinator / Defensive Backs) assists the head coach in all facets of the program to develop an elite NAIA Football program that will be competitive and advance the team in the competition, academics, and in the community. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and possess the ability to lead, teach and coach student-athletes in a challenging environment with a strong defensive football mindset. The assistant coach will have a strong focus on recruiting and coaching instruction as well as building a strong and successful team culture.
The EOU Assistant Football Coach demands a capable and deeply committed professional who is a great teacher and a person of character. The Eastern Oregon University Assistant Football Coach is expected to adhere to the NAIA Coaches Code and EOU’s Athletic Department’s guiding principles:

Ability to repetitively push and pull equipment (for example, football sleds, dummies, and pads) a minimum of 10 yards without assistance.
Must satisfactorily complete EOU criminal and credential background check. Having a criminal history is not an automatic bar to employment.
