The Assistant Football Coach reports to the Head Football Coach. The primary tasks are to assist the head coach in organizing, recruiting, and providing leadership to student athletes and coaches. This position is defined as an exempt position under FLSA regulations.
Specific Responsibilities
Identify and recruit quality student-athletes for the football program
Develop and implement organized practices and game strategies
Coordinate fundraising opportunities as determined by head coach
Monitor and track academic progress of student-athletes
Adhere to all NCAA and conference rules and bylaws
Fulfill a secondary administrative duty as assigned
Develop positive rapport with athletics staff, as well as SU community
Represent the university to various constituents in a professional manner
Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum of 3-5 years of football coaching and recruiting experience required. Previous coaching experience at the college level preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Evidence of positive attitude and the ability to get along well with others required.
Excellent speaking and writing skills necessary, as well as the ability to be a well-organized self-starter.
PC, Windows platform, HUDL, Front Rush and Telephone skills.
Equipment specific knowledge to the sport.

This position requires a valid driver’s license, and the ability to drive and qualify under the university’s insurance carrier when driving a university and/or leased vehicle.
This role is identified as one that includes significant interaction with students and/or campus activities, and/or has oversight for disciplinary procedures. Therefore, you are considered a Campus Security Authority (CSA) and required to report any Clery Act crime disclosed to you and remain compliant with annual CSA training requirements.

Working conditions are indoors and outdoors.
Must have the energy and enthusiasm and mobility to actively coach field sports.
