Internal Candidate Posting expires 7/22/2024. Siena Heights University’s Athletics’ Office is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Football Coach. This is a full-time, exempt position.

SUMMARY :

The Assistant Football Coach plays a key role in supporting the Head Coach in all aspects of the Football program including athlete development, training sessions, recruiting and administrative duties. Assists in the planning, organizing, and coaching of the Siena Heights University Football Team. The Assistant Coach is further responsible for supporting the Head Coach in providing a quality athletic program for student-athletes through pre and postseason training/conditioning, intercollegiate competition, student-athlete recruitment and monitoring of academic progress. The Assistant Coach is responsible for directing the additional Football student workers.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Assist the Head Coach in preparing the student athlete for competition in the Football season by instructing and teaching in the fundamentals of Football performance, creating and executing daily practice plans, including pre and post season conditioning programs.

  • Instructing athletes in game strategy and rules knowledge; and providing individualized coaching and mentorship to student-athletes to support their athletic and personal development.

  • Assist in providing and maintaining necessary uniforms and equipment.

  • Assist the Head Coach in recruitment and retention of student athletes through scouting, evaluation and communication with prospective athletes and their families, including networking through high schools, travel programs, junior colleges as well as parents and student athletes.

  • Assist with team travel arrangements, schedule management, and logistical coordination for practices and competitions.

  • Assist with recruiting correspondence with high school and junior college coaches as well as prospective student athletes. Assist in the planning, organizing and execution of fundraising events for the Football budget.

  • Assists in monitoring student athletes’ academic progress by scheduling study sessions and communicating with academic advisors and faculty. Promote environment in which student athlete will establish purposeful and ethical characteristics.
