Summary: The Assistant Coach – Recruiter is to carry out recruitment efforts for the university in their designated area; to be responsible for managing their prospective student pool; to assist the Head Coach in bringing to the institution each new class of students; to work under the direct supervision of the Head Coach, and assist them as the need arises. The Assistant Coach will be a mature Christian leader committed to utilizing their program as a tool for advancing the University’s Christ-centered mission; developing student-athletes from academic, spiritual, and educational perspectives; and, establishing a culture of performance excellence.
** Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
The Assistant Coach – Recruiter will advance the University’s mission to educate students for Christian leadership and service in the church and professions throughout the world. A standard held within all athletic operations of the University.
The Assistant Coach – Recruiter will support the responsibilities of the Head Coach including supervising players and support personnel, as well as operations for their program. They will serve as Academic Coordinator.
The Assistant Coach – Recruiter will develop and implement a year-round academic program for all KCU student-athletes in their program.
The Assistant Coach – Recruiter is responsible for assisting in developing, planning, directing, & implementing the program’s summer camps.
The Assistant Coach – Recruiter is responsible for recruiting from a multi-state area; and scheduling, and completing campus visits for recruits. This is essential in building and maintaining a program consistent with the mission of the institution.
The Assistant Coach – Recruiter must adhere to the guidelines set forth by the athletic organizations to which the institution has membership. Operating within organizational and KCU guidelines for conduct is essential to the success of the coach and the program.
The Assistant Coach – Recruiter is to market the institution to current and prospective constituencies at high schools, specifically in the tri-state area.
The Assistant Coach – Recruiter is responsible for maintaining phone contact with prospective students and parents as needed.
The Assistant Coach – Recruiter is to maintain and comply with all policies, rules, and regulations included in the KCU Staff Handbook.
The Assistant Coach – Recruiter may have additional duties that may be required or assigned by their Head Coach.

** QUALIFICATION STANDARDS: *** *
Education: A Master’s degree is preferred but not required.
Experience: At least three (3) years experience in their sport at the college level.
Values: Must be sympathetic to the mission and purpose of Kentucky Christian University and enthusiastically support the institution’s core values. The Assistant Coach must be a self-starter who inspires excellence in others by their work ethic. The Assistant Coach must accept ownership of their area of responsibility and provide leadership throughout the university community.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:** **
Full-time salary exempt position. Hours: M-F 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (plus evening and weekend hours as needed).
The successful candidate must be adherent to the Stone-Campbell Restoration tradition (e.g. Christian Church and/or Churches of Christ).
