Job Summary

This position is responsible for the management of the daily golf operations for the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. This includes managing daily play and tournament preparation both inside and outside. Responsible for supervision of the operations staff. Participate in the planning of the advertising and marketing plans for the facilities. Provide instruction for both students and customers. Responsible for Golf Event planning/organizing or Merchandising.

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree, no specific field of study
• Two years golf operations experience
• Knowledge of golf fundamentals and rules of the game; ability to work within University rules and regulations; ability to establish effective relations with University staff, students, and general public; demonstrated skills in public relations promotions, marketing, merchandising, and leadership; demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to analyze, interpret, communicate, and adhere to University, Big Ten Conference, and NCAA policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
• In addition, the applicant should be an apprentice in the PGA of America, specifically as a part of the Golf Professional Training Program (If not currently, must have been part of the program in the past with a willingness to start up again in this position).
