Job Description:
Berry College invites applications and nominations for the full-time, 10-month position of assistant women's indoor volleyball coach with additional responsibilities to be assigned depending on the successful candidate's skill set and experiences. Located midway between Atlanta, Ga., and Chattanooga, Tenn., on a 26,000-acre campus just north of Rome, Ga., Berry is an independent, co-educational, liberal arts college with approximately 2,100 undergraduate and graduate students. Berry challenges students to embrace a firsthand educational experience that complements challenging academic programs with opportunities for meaningful student work experiences, spiritual and moral growth, and significant service to others. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Head Indoor and Beach Volleyball Coach, the candidate will assist the Head Coach with the organization, supervision, and administration of NCAA Division III intercollegiate indoor and beach volleyball. The candidate will also demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to a liberal arts education, Division III athletics, and an appreciation for and commitment to all NCAA, Southern Athletic Association (SAA), and institutional rules and regulations. Other duties and responsibilities may include but are not limited to, recruitment of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes, budget management, practice and game preparation, fundraising, marketing, alumni relations, equipment management, community service coordinating, event planning, travel logistics, film exchange and scouting, and a commitment to the student-athletes academic progress and degree completion. Along with coaching responsibilities, the candidates will be assigned additional responsibilities dependent on the successful candidate's skill set and experience.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. Previous coaching and teaching experience on the NCAA Division III collegiate level is preferred. The candidate should also possess good communication skills and strong leadership and mentoring abilities, supporting the vision and goals of the program. Strong social media and computer skills are preferred. This position includes competitive benefits and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
