Job Description
This position may pay more than the minimum proposed salary listed above, depending on experience and/or qualifications of the selected candidate.
The Assistant Manager, under general direction, will assist the Athletic Facilities Manager in performing managerial work administering the daily operations and activities of the Athletics Complex facilities. This will include working with the coaching staff members and other athletic administrative staff personnel and the day-to-day supervision of the students who work in the area of athletic facilities.
Responsibilities:
Provides oversight of set-up, operation, and break-down of the department's facilities for athletic and non-athletic events as per the events calendar.
Manages facility space utilization (set-up, clean-up).
Be on-site and available throughout selected athletic events to assist with operations.
Conduct daily facility reviews of selected facilities.
Ensure timely, secure opening and closing of buildings within the Sports Complex Campus according to schedule and security of buildings at all times.
Enforce rules and regulations and stop all unsafe actions.
Manage light schedule for all athletic facilities.
Coordinates maintenance of all athletic facilities in conjunction with campus Custodial and Grounds Services.
Prepares and processes various repair work order requests and reviews them for job completion.
Assist with asset inventory control (locating, scanning, and tagging of equipment, etc.).
Monitors and assists in the preparation and long-range planning activities.
Will assist in developing schedules, priorities, and standards for providing service during various events at, in and on Athletic facilities.
Assist in planning, assigning, and supervising the work of others.
Represents the department on committees and at meetings around the campuses.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in an applicable field.
Four years of related experience

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Computers and related software.
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Knowledge and interest in sports and athletic operations.

Ability to work in various environmental conditions.

Other Requirements:
Ability to lift moderately heavy objects.
Familiarity with and ability to use various power tools.
Must be able to work nights, weekends, and during holiday breaks.
