Job Summary
The Assistant Manager of Video Production works within Hillsdale College’s Audio Video Department assisting with a broad variety of needs and endeavors within the Hillsdale College community. This position will two primary functions, working on video production projects presented by the Hillsdale College Athletic Department’s creative and marketing teams and the audio/video needs of the general campus. The position reports to the Manager of Live Video and Post-Production with the objective of improving the quality, creativity, and efficiency of the College’s media, event video capture and post-production efforts with special attention paid to the needs of the College’s Athletic Department. This position will also serve in various capacities during live College events as well as fulfill tasks surrounding video capture and post-production, editing and various AV tasks and projects as assigned.

Essential Job Functions
Encourage and support the vision, mission, and principles of the College and the AV team.
Partner with the Athletic Department’s creative and marketing team to produce award videos, player of the week content, motion graphics, game day content and promotional materials as assigned by supervisor.
Plan, set goals, and produce video content with minimal oversight.
Contribute to the regular video editing projects of the AV Department as assigned, including but not limited to reviewing footage, logging, rough cuts, audio adjustments and color correction.
Engage in the planning of camera locations, setup of studio and stage lighting for optimal video quality, live adjustment of iris control, white balance, and color correction and directing live video utilizing various switchers (Broadcast Pix & Blackmagic switchers) will be needed for this role.
Partner with members of the AV team to broadcast live interviews from Hillsdale College’s studio to Fox News, facilitate live streams, video podcasts and Zoom sessions as assigned.
Manage live AV events as assigned. This involves communicating with the event requestor to confirm AV details, preparing the venue with necessary gear, creating appropriate documentation and scheduling setup and tear down times.
Work alongside the student employee manager to train and support student teams in video standards, camera operation and video duplication.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
3+ years of audiovisual experience required

AVIXA
CTS
Certifications or relevant training
Ability to travel occasionally for event productions throughout the year and willingness to work select evenings and weekends.
Ideal candidates will have experience in the basics of live sound and utilizing digital mixing consoles (Allen & Heath dlive), programming and operation of various lighting consoles (
ETC
& Chamsys) or display the aptitude to develop said skills.
Must possess strong analytical skills with the capacity to troubleshoot equipment, connectivity, and software problems.
Ideal candidates will have experience and/or appreciation for athletics; providing a natural affinity with the teams they will be partnering with and the projects they will be tasked with producing.
