The Assistant Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach is responsible for assisting in the coaching and development of Division I student-athletes at Lafayette College.

Primary Responsibilities:

Recruiting and assessment of qualified student-athletes. Assist in the organization and planning of all practice sessions and home contests. Assist in advising and mentoring student-athletes. Possess knowledge of rules and regulations of the NCAA, Patriot League, and Lafayette College. Assist in all fundraising and development activities. Assist in continued development of positive public relations with community and local high schools. Participate in Lafayette College and Athletic Department meetings and activities. Manage the team’s online presence via social media platforms. Performance of all other duties and special projects as assigned by the Athletic Administration and the Head Swimming Coach.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree. Knowledge of and ability to abide by NCAA, Patriot League, and Lafayette College rules and regulations. At least 1-3 years coaching experience at the collegiate level. Strong verbal and written communication skills along with knowledge of Google Workspace for Education and ARMS.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge and experience using Omega timing equipment. Red Cross or similar certifications in First Aid Basics, CPR/PR and Lifeguard Training.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to cultivate relationships with students and staff and be passionate about the competitive student-athlete experience. Must have creative digital media skills for social platforms. Must be able to work nights and weekends.

The position is a full-time 12 month position and includes a competitive benefits package. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
