Job Responsibilities

This is a 12-month, full-time position responsible for assisting the head coach with all phases of the men’s and women’s swimming program in a manner compatible with department and University philosophies.

Responsibilities:

Assist the head coach in the following primary responsibilities:

· recruitment of prospective student-athletes

· coaching, mentoring, and retaining student-athletes

· in-season practice and meet planning; pre and post season conditioning

· compliance with

NCAA

Division II,

GLVC

, and University rules and regulations

· team travel arrangements

· assist with all aspects of team’s fundraising

Additional responsibilities for on-campus natatorium include (but not limited to):

· manage pool usage schedule including open swim and intercollegiate athletics;

· hire, train, and schedule lifeguards as needed;

· coordinate with Physical Plant pool maintenance technician as needed;

· any other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Required qualifications include: A bachelor’s degree; demonstrated effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills:

CPR

and First Aid Certification. Also must be able to travel for competition and recruiting with most travel occurring evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include: a master’s degree, collegiate,

club, or high school coaching experience; collegiate swimming experience, familiarity with team and meet manager software.
