Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach

take the cross to more job sites, churches, industries, and nations than ever before.
The Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach is responsible assisting the Head Coach with all aspects of
basketball operations.
Essential Duties
• Organizes and directs individual and small group activities
• Assist with camps and clinics
• Maintain effective working relationship with school administrators and students
• Serve as a Christian role model for students, parents, administrators, faculty, staff,
alumni, and community members
• Represent the University in a positive manner to administrators, faculty, staff,
prospective and current students, parents, community members, and visitors through
Christian conduct, behavior, and presentation on and off campus
• Recruit and evaluate high school and college athletes within college admissions and
NAIA guidelines
• Provide on-court coaching of athletic skill development
• Assist in the planning of practice and film sessions
• Knowledge and understanding of Synergy film system
• Monitor academic progress by student athletes involving grade reports, study skills
development, and counseling
• Coordinate team travel and logistics, including vehicles, lodging, and meals
• Assist in scouting opponents
• Assist with fund-raising programs to augment operations budget
• Maintain parent and alumni communication
• Assist with equipment maintenance
• Performs other duties as requested
Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution
• NCAA or NAIA college playing experience
• One or more years college coaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
• 2+years of head college coaching experience
