Under the general supervision of the Head Men’s Basketball Coach, the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach is a twelve month position and will be responsible for successful execution in planning, developing and administering all phases of the men’s basketball coaching and recruiting program. This position is governed by the state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
REQUIRED EDUCATION /OR EXPERIENCE:
● Bachelor’s Degree;
● Three (3) years of intercollegiate coaching experience.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Negotiate scholarship offers of all prospects under the direction of the head coach;
● Oversee roster management related to name, image and likeness;
● Identify and recruit high caliber prospective student athletes;
● Plan campus visits with prospective student athletes and their parents;
● Assist head coach with practice and game preparation;
● Assist head coach with scheduling;
● Assist in daily workouts with individual players;
● Assist in budget preparation and administration;
● Teach advance level player skills and game strategies to student athletes;
● Serve as a mentor to athletes, helping resolve academic and non-academic issues;
● Scout opponents for game preparation;
● Compliance with all NCAA, Conference and institutional rules and policies.
Knowledge of NCAA, Conference and UA Little Rock regulations;
Ability to work nights and weekends with extensive travel.
