JOB SUMMARY: In accordance with all NCAA, MIAC and College policies and procedures, the successful applicant will possess a proven ability to coach soccer, as well as recruit the best possible student-athletes within the rules and guidelines of the NCAA and Gustavus Admissions. This individual will help with all aspects of running the men’s soccer program under the direction of the Head Soccer Coach.

Employment Status: Part-time (Seasonal), Exempt (Salaried), Non-benefits Eligible

Salary Range: $5,000-10,000 (Aug-November)

This individual will help with all aspects of running the men’s soccer program under the direction of the Head Soccer Coach.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the Head Coach with training, recruitment, scouting, and game preparation during the regular season.
• Plan and implement specific training tailored to each athlete.
• Assist in practices, game strategy, video analysis, and other soccer duties.
• Support the recruitment and retention efforts of academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.
• Foster a positive student-athlete experience by supporting and promoting team expectations and vision.
• Coordinate team travel, including buses, hotels, and meals.
• Collaborate with athletic and academic staff to support the success of student-athletes.
• Maintain knowledge of, and compliance with, NCAA Division III, MIAC, and Gustavus Adolphus College governing rules and regulations.
• Demonstrate leadership, sportsmanship, and professionalism in all activities.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Prerequisites

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Soccer coaching experience, preferably at the college or high school level.
• Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, preferred.
• Experience in recruitment and event management, preferred.
