The Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach will serve in all phases of a competitive men’s soccer program. Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the
NCAA
, and will be expected to work cooperatively with all constituencies and campus units. The Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach reports to the Head Men’s Soccer Coach.

Job Duties

- Assist the head soccer coach in managing and directing the men’s soccer program.
- Assist the head soccer coach with all aspects of the team, including training, competing, player development, and scheduling.
- Organize and maintain an accurate inventory of soccer equipment and uniforms.
- Coordinate travel arrangements.
- Coordinate scouting and video exchange.
- Coordinate facility needs of visiting teams.
- Organize and complete all required paperwork.
- Assist the administration with alumni relations and scholarship fundraising.
- Commit to and adhere to all rules and regulations set forth for the team, the University, the Ohio Valley Conference, and the NCAA.
- Assist with recruiting, including calling prospective student-athletes, and evaluating high school and junior college players.
- Work cooperatively with personnel in the athletics department, as well as attend department meetings and activities.
- Consistently represent the University positively when interacting with the community, alumni, high school and club coaches, media, and the general public.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Ability to recruit, coach, and teach highly talented student-athletes.
- Ability to scout opponents and break down game video.
- A proven record of following directives and being responsible for tasks that have been assigned.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment as needed.
- Ability to apply budgeting and fiscal planning techniques within financial constraints.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with students, faculty, staff, and the public.
- Ability to communicate effectively–orally, by phone, in person, via social media and in writing.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate the ability to market and promote UIW Men’s Soccer.
- Be willing to work various hours including weekends, evenings and some holidays.
- Ability to effectively and consistently follow the Mission of the University.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Bachelor’s Degree.

| Required Work Experience |
One (1) to three (3) years of experience competing in and/or coaching men’s soccer at the collegiate level.

| Preferred Qualifications |
Master’s Degree.
|
| Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations |
Must have a valid driver license, driving record that is insurable by UIW insurance carrier, and be at least 21 years of age, as required to drive for UIW.
|
| Work Hours |
Typical Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with flexibility to include extended hours as needed to meet practice and game schedule. Must be willing to work, nights, weekends and holidays.
