The Assistant Men's Soccer Coach will support the Head Men's Soccer Coach in all aspects of the men's soccer program during the competitive season. This is a part-time temporary position, from August to November (4 months), designed for individuals looking to gain collegiate coaching experience while contributing to the development and success of the program. Responsibilities include assisting with training sessions, match preparation, student-athlete development, and ensuring compliance with institutional, conference, and NCAA regulations. The successful candidate will be expected to uphold the mission and values of Alma College while contributing positively to the development of student-athletes both on and off the field.
Supervision Received/Exercised:
This position reports to the head men's soccer coach and has no supervisory role.
Support recruiting efforts through communication with prospective student-athletes, high school and club coaches, and attendance at recruiting events when appropriate
Serve as a positive role model and promote sportsmanship, discipline, and team culture
Maintain knowledge of and compliance with all NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations
Represent the men's soccer program and the College in a professional manner at all times

Attend staff meetings and perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach
Collegiate playing experience and/or previous coaching experience
Strong knowledge and understanding of the game of soccer
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive student-athlete experience
Ability to work evenings and weekends throughout the competitive fall season
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
A valid driver's license and good driving record
Physical Requirements:
Ability to travel with the team throughout the season
Experience working with goalkeepers
Previous collegiate coaching experience
Knowledge of NCAA Division III and MIAA regulations
Experience working in a residential college environment
Goalkeeping, strength and conditioning, video analysis, or recruiting expertise
Experience working with underrepresented, first-generation, Pell-eligible, and diverse populations
