Summary/Objective
Reporting to the Head Men’s Soccer Coach, the Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach in meeting the goals of guiding and building an elite-level
NCAA
Division II program. This requires the promotion of academic achievement and character of the student-athlete, fans, and the overall College community. The Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach will be responsible for the implementation and coaching of a full developmental team, individual player development, recruiting coordination for the entire program, game day preparation, opponent scouting, academic monitoring, and on-field coaching during practices. A focus on recruitment and retention of student-athletes, game preparation, generation of net tuition revenue, and meticulous budget management are essential for this position. Essential Functions
Assist the Head Coach in the day-to-day operations which includes preparation, organization and implementation of effective practice schedules, off-season programs and in-game coaching
Evaluation and recruitment of elite prospective student-athletes
Game preparation
Training and development all student-athletes with a focus on goalkeeping
Monitoring student-athletes’ academic progress and growth as a person
Ability to participate and lead in practice and drills
Individual workouts, conditioning, and strength training with players
Direction, instruction and assistance with summer soccer camps
Game film study and preparation
Game day meal planning and organization
Travel coordination for away competitions
Investment in lives and growth of student-athletes
Assisting head coach in all phases of student-athlete mentoring and evaluation
Serve as head coach of the developmental team
Conduct developmental team workouts and practices on a consistent basis
Schedule all games and arrange all travel for developmental team
Other administrative duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position will not directly supervise staff, but it will have responsibility for such when it comes to student assistants and/or managers.
Work Environment
Normal office environment in addition to non-traditional environment that includes gymnasiums, weight room, and locker room. Coach can be outside for team activities and extra skill sessions.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position that will require evening and weekend work. Days and hours of work will vary. Monday through Friday hours can be 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. or 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Frequent evening and weekend work is required for recruitment and game competitions.
Travel
Extensive day and overnight travel is required as needed. Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree
Previous coaching experience at the high school or college level
Excellent written and oral communication, well-developed presentation skills, and outstanding customer and quality service skills
Competency with Microsoft Office applications and social media marketing platforms
Ability to build relationships with student-athletes and families
Preferred Education and Experience
Master’s degree in a related field
Experience with Slate or another
CRM
Certifications:
CPR
,
AED
, and First Aid.
