Springfield College seeks applications for a Director of Athletic Healthcare position. This individual will serve as a faculty member in the Department of Athletic Training with responsibility for teaching coursework in fall, spring and summer. The Director will be responsible for providing comprehensive athletic healthcare and administrative oversite of the athletic healthcare team while simultaneously providing education, supervision and instruction to athletic training students. This is a full-time, 12-month, program-track appointment within the School of Physical Education, Performance and Sport Leadership beginning January 2027. Expertise and leadership in the field of athletic training, demonstrated excellence in college-level and clinical teaching, and a strong commitment to service and professional activities is expected.

Actual salaries will vary depending on multiple factors, including but not limited to degrees attained, experience, and other considerations permitted by law. Comprehensive compensation details, including any additional benefits, will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer.

Responsibilities

The Director is responsible for:
Strategic and operational leadership of athletic healthcare services, including maintenance of a wholistic integrated health and wellness athletic healthcare team consisting of graduate fellows, Resident athletic trainers and athletic training faculty members.
Teaching courses within the CAATE accredited MSAT program
Maintaining a budget , managing inventory and completing purchasing.
Exercising independent medical authority for health care decisions related to the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and return to play of student athletes while performing professional duties of athletic training related to specific sport-specific responsibilities, including attendance at team practices and competitions.
Organizing and conducting medical clearance and pre participation physicals for student athletes.
Maintaining electronic medical records for all student athletes.
Working collaboratively with the Department of Athletics' Leadership Team.
Serving as primary liaison for Athletic Healthcare services with the Team Physician, athletics insurance provider, the Director of the Counseling Center, the Director of the Health Center and the Director of the Strength and Conditioning.
