Albizu University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Soccer Coach (Men’s and Women’s Teams). This position supports the development and success of our newly launched athletic program, aligned with the NAIA Pathway to Membership. The Assistant Coach will collaborate closely with the Head Coach to support both the men’s and women’s soccer teams through training, recruitment, game preparation, and student-athlete development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes academic achievement, athletic excellence, and sportsmanship.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting daily practices, conditioning sessions, and game strategies.
• Support recruitment by identifying, evaluating, and communicating with prospective student-athletes.
• Help organize and manage team travel, match day logistics, and equipment inventory.
• Contribute to video analysis, scouting reports, and player development plans.
• Promote a team culture centered on sportsmanship, academic success, and athletic excellence.
• Monitor student-athlete academic progress and behavior in alignment with university and NAIA standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting daily practices, conditioning sessions, and game strategies.
• Support recruitment by identifying, evaluating, and communicating with prospective student-athletes.
• Help organize and manage team travel, match day logistics, and equipment inventory.
• Contribute to video analysis, scouting reports, and player development plans.
• Promote a team culture centered on sportsmanship, academic success, and athletic excellence.
• Monitor student-athlete academic progress and behavior in alignment with university and NAIA standards.
• Participate in community outreach, fundraising, and promotional activities on behalf of Albizu Athletics.
• Ensure compliance with all university, conference, and NAIA rules and regulations.

Requirements:

• Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Prior coaching or high-level playing experience (college, club, or semi-pro).
• Experience with college recruitment or team management preferred.
• Valid coaching licenses (USSF, USC, or international equivalent).
• Familiarity with NAIA rules and collegiate athletics administration.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to plan, organize, and execute training sessions and match preparation.
• Capability to mentor and support student-athletes in both athletic and academic success.
• Solid understanding of soccer techniques, strategies, and game analysis.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work collaboratively.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
• Ability to actively participate in practices and match-day activities, including standing, walking, and running for extended periods.
• Availability for practices, travel, and weekend matches.
• Ability to assist with equipment setup and management (may involve lifting up to 30 pounds).
