Job Summary

 

This position is responsible for assisting in coaching the colleges soccer programs, men and women.

This position is retirement and leave benefit eligible.

Minimum Hourly rate: $15.67/ hr

            This is a part-time position up to 29 hours a week.

            This position will close on January 29, 2025.

Responsibilities

 

Assists with on-field coaching. (35%)

• Set up for practice.
• Runs drills.
• Directs team warm-up and stretching.
• Instruct and motivate players.

 

Recruit student-athletes. (25%)

• Attends high school and club matches.
• Evaluates players. 
• Communicates with prospective coaches and players.

 

Advises and monitors the academic progress of student-athletes. (10%)

• Ensures player progress toward degree completion.
• Provide advice and support to students.
• Coordinates community service opportunities for student-athletes.

 

Assists in coordinating team travel. (10%)

• Reserves transportation for away games. 
• Prepares expense reports and travel authorizations. 
• Coordinates meals and hotels.

 

Promotes soccer programs to the campus, news media, and community groups. (5%)

• Speaks to civic organizations.
• Provides free soccer clinics for the community.

 

Performs related duties. (15%)

• Review scouting reports for opposing teams.
• Assists in all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the soccer program. 

Required Qualifications

 

• Baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field required.
• More than three years of related playing or coaching experience is required.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid drivers license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

 

• Knowledge of the rules and regulations governing intercollegiate sports.
• Knowledge of college-level athletic program management principles.
• Knowledge of soccer rules and procedures.
• Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
• Skill in the coaching and training of student-athletes.
• Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
• Skills in oral and written communication.
