8.   Assist with Field Maintenance.
9.   Assist in the development and coaching of the Junior Varsity Team.
10.   Evaluate talent of prospective student athletes, organization of on campus visits & phone contacts with prospects and families.Â
11.   Perform necessary duties in relationship to fundraising through the Oilers Club.
12.   Plan and organize all aspects of team travel.
13.   Assist in Alumni Relations.Â
14.   Report any violations of compliance regulations.
15.   Ability to coach the student athletes in game and practice situations.
16.   Meet Recruiting Goals.
17.   Assist with Camps and youth clinics.
18.   Assist with Summer League Placements.
19.   Organize a team that is competitive and representative of the University’s philosophy and compatible with its mission.
20.   Ability to maintain social media sites.
21.   Assist in community service projects.
22.   Have meaningful conversations daily with all members of The University of Findlay softball program.Â
23.   Have knowledge of the game of softball in all areas. Specifically in the area of pitching.Â
24.   Perform all other duties deemed appropriate for the position.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. In some situations, the noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full time 11-month position, and hours of work and days vary depending on athletic practice and competition schedule. Candidate must be available Sunday-Saturday.

Travel
This job requires travel with the athletic team to competitions and events. A valid US Drivers’ License with a safe driving record is required, and the energy and ability to travel. Some evening and weekend work, and some overnight travel are expectations of this position.
Required Education and Experience
1.   Bachelor’s Degree
2.   Public relations and promotional skills.
3.   Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules and regulations including recruiting, eligibility, and certification.
4.   Candidate must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
5.   Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff and the public.
6.   Strong organizational, oral and written communication, time management and interpersonal skills.
7.   Ability to protect confidential information and present a professional demeanor.
8.   Team-oriented individual with willingness to take initiative and be flexible, and the ability to work under occasional pressure.
9.   Ability to work effectively with an ethnic, cultural and diverse student population.

Preferred Education and Experience
1.   Master’s degree
2.   Two or more years of coaching experience at the collegiate level.
