Position Description:
Valley City State University is searching for an Assistant Softball Coach. This position will assist the head coach with the following duties: scheduling competitions and planning practices with emphasis on pitching and catching; implementing strength and conditioning programs, recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and retaining student athletes; monitoring annual budgets; arranging team and recruiting travel; fundraising and other departmental duties; fostering strong alumni relations and meeting all institutional, and NAIA rules and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED; 10 years or more of successful playing and/or coaching at the collegiate, high school or club level (or a combination).

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree accomplished coaching background, excellent communication skills; strong organizational and leadership skills; a demonstrated ability to recruit, train, and retain academically and athletically successful student-athletes; a commitment and history of integrating the student athlete into the campus community of a small college. Knowledge of Valley City area or community.

Compensation:
$28,500-$32,500 annually and is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
